The project supported 43 disadvantaged young females living within Southwark between  October 2019-August 2020. The project sought to increase access to positive engaging  activities and support services within high-risk council estates, increase life skills, self confidence, coping tools and help young females become more informed in sensitive areas  often overlooked including (but not limited to) child abuse, peer pressure, alcoholism.

20 disadvantaged females accessed our Girls Night Programme within North Southwark  (The Bermound Community Centre) and disclosed they engaged and participated in  activities they enjoyed including drama and sports. Service users further disclosed 100% of  service users who completed our 12-week North Southwark programme disclosed they  found the programme useful and enjoyed the programme. Service users further disclosed  learning new skills including ‘dealing with their mental health’, ‘how to invest’ ‘problem  solving skills’, ‘how to deal with my anger’, ‘coping mechanism’, ‘the importance of loving  myself’. Service users further disclosed in feedback forms we ‘should find a base’, ‘stay in  one hall so they can find us’ ‘make our sessions longer’ ‘do our sessions again’. Moreover,  service users disclosed feeling safe.

A new group of 17 disadvantaged females (as well as a few previous service users)  accessed our Girls Night Programme within Peckham (The Bells Garden Community  Centre). 100% of service users disclosed finding the programme useful so far. So far service  users have disclosed learning ‘coping mechanisms’, ‘peer pressure’, ‘different mental health  conditions’, ‘sexual health’, ‘it’s ok to say no’. Due to COVID-19 we had to reduce the size of our group face to face sessions and deliver  some sessions digitally. Between July 2020-August 2020 a new group of 6 disadvantaged  females (school referrals), as well as some of our previous service users assessed our  outdoor Girls Night Programme based at Peckham Rye & Burgees Park. 100% of service  users have disclosed they found the programme useful and really enjoyed it. 100% also  disclosed learning new skills such as filmmaking, screenplay writing, football and were really  pleased to resume to face to face activities and meeting new people. 90% disclosed they  found the topics relevant and useful.
