During the summer of 2016, we supported ‘Summer Adventures’, an amazing project run by the student group, at the University of Exeter. Summer Adventures is a two week activity camp for young carers in Devon, catering for those aged between 8 and 15; the first week provides a day camp for 8-11 year olds, whilst the second camp is a residential week for 12-15 year olds. Young carers have huge responsibilities at home and our project aims to give them respite through sports, arts and crafts, and days out. The project is run entirely by students and is also entirely funded by grants and donations by the public. “We are extremely grateful for the funding provided by the Dickson Trust.”
